HELLO,
I'M ELIZABETH PEACE

Elizabeth is a mom, military spouse, dog rescuer and child advocate.

An avid volunteer, she created the Sgt. BARK coloring books, volunteered with a local domestic violence hotline, served as a board member for the Washington City Chamber of Commerce and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), teaches child sexual abuse prevention classes through Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children program, and mentors at-risk youth. She now volunteers with the Civil Air Patrol as the Georgia Wing Director of Marketing and Communications, Southeast Region Assistant Government Relations Advisor, and local squadron Cadet Competition and Color Guard Advisor for 71 youth in the program.

Following her career in the Air Force, Elizabeth began working her way through college as a single mom and became a journalist; first working in print journalism as a sports editor, a crime reporter, and eventually managing editor. She is the founder of St. George news, the largest news and media organization in southern Utah, and volunteered for many years as a judge for the Society of Professional Journalists' annual Media in Excellence awards. She still teaches journalism and public relations.

Elizabeth worked as a speechwriter and communications director for the U.S. House of Representatives. She then worked as a public affairs officer or the U.S. Army and as a director of communications for the U.S. Navy. She continues to work for the federal government as a senior public affairs specialist.

In her spare time, she and her family travel as small town tourists, visiting the the unique and beautiful communities, national parks and historic locations throughout the country. She enjoys interior decorating and painting furniture. She considers herself an expert Norwegian fattigmann baker, a skill she learned from her grandmother.  While she's not very good at it, she is attempting to learn French to keep up with her husband, a U.S. Marine who learned how to paint while living in the French countryside. She and her husband have two boys and four rescue dogs (and counting!).

She is an two-time author and most enjoys working with children - a cause she believes is her purpose in life.
