STORY

COULD CHANGE SOMEONE'S LIFE

In 1992, at just 12 years old, I was told I would never succeed—that I was destined for a life of failure. More than 30 years later, I’ve built a successful career as a journalist, military public affairs officer, congressional staffer, and federal employee. I’ve written two books, earned multiple pageant titles, and volunteer more than 20 hours each week with a national nonprofit and the Air Force Auxiliary, where I hold the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. I’ve learned how to turn my past into fuel for my future—how to use my story to heal and empower others to find their voice. I’m here to help you do the same.

DON'T LET YOUR FEAR
OF WHAT COULD

HAPPEN,

MAKE NOTHING HAPPEN.

I’m a storyteller at heart, but my journey has never fit neatly into one box.

Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—journalist, devoted mom, military spouse, podcast host, published author, and motivational speaker. What ties it all together is a deep passion for helping others find their voice and tell their story with both purpose and peace.

With a background spanning broadcast journalism, federal public affairs, and national nonprofit leadership, I’ve spent decades crafting narratives that inspire, inform, and ignite change. My work centers on turning adversity into strength and showing others how to embrace purpose over perfection—then helping them share those stories to uplift the world around them.

Beyond the titles and bylines, I’m simply a mom raising two incredible boys (and wrangling four rescue pups). Parenthood sparked my passion for advocacy, driving me to champion causes close to my heart—like child safety, trauma recovery, and youth leadership. That journey led to the creation of Sgt. BARK and my ongoing volunteer work with organizations like Civil Air Patrol and Darkness to Light.

Through Curated in Peace, I now blend all these chapters—offering storytelling, tools, and gentle encouragement to help others write their own.

So stay awhile for meaningful stories, mindset shifts, and a real, unfiltered look at mom life, military life, and everything in between.

Hi, I’m Elizabeth — a Marine Corps spouse, former Airman, and proud mom of two (plus a pack of rescue pups). I’ve spent decades as a journalist and public affairs professional — and just as many years learning how to balance it all with motherhood, advocacy, and a whole lot of heart. This space is where I share that journey — the messy, meaningful moments of raising boys while using our voices to create change. Together, we can be both nurturers and storytellers, rooted in purpose and peace.
